Sleipnir crazy! update 2

Six million equus and it's a done deal! So, today, Sunny Sunshine paid a record amount for a horse. The huge bid for the Divine, fire Sleipnir simply wasn't challenged in the final hours before the auction ended.

So, Sunny Sunshine has a second Sleipnir and loonytoones59 is considerably richer!




Update: I sold my black Sleipnir recently for 8 million equus! How prices have gone up in recent months. We are just waiting for the first 10 million equus Sleipnir now....

As we write, there are 5 hours to go on the most amazing sale we've seen on Howrse. A Sleipnir is for sale in the auctions. The current price for this eight-legged, Divine horse is 6 million equus! The highest price we've seen a Sleipnir sell for previously was around 4.5 million equus.

Admittedly, it's a fire Sleipnir which are the most sought after, but this is still an immense amount of equus to pay for a horse - however rare and special.

So LucyLou and Patsy will be glued to their PC's (well, one PC and one Mac actually)as the auction reaches it's climax.

We'll post the final figure this 'mega' Sleipnir sells for, soon. Oh and if you want to buy one - start saving. Now!

Unicorns - Handy Hint

Breeding a Unicorn is very exciting. But did you know that if want to try and breed a Unicorn, you MUST breed at exactly 6.23am or 6.23pm Game Time? You have just the time between 6.23(am/pm) and 6.24(am/pm) to breed and if you miss it, you'll have to wait a whole 12 hours until you can tray again.

Now, you're still not guaranteed to produce a Unicorn foal when you breed at 6.23(am/pm), but if you don't breed at these times, you will definitely never produce a Unicorn foal.

It's believed that you have a one in six chance of producing a Unicorn foal, so be patient. However, someone I know bred their Unicorn 20 times and never produced a Unicorn foal!
UPDATE: As of 20 April 2011, you now have a 1 in 5 chance.

So good luck. You might need it.

Do I Need to Look After My Horses Every Day?

Did you know that you don't have to look after all your horses every day? This is very good news, because if you have more than one or two horses, looking after them all, every day, would become impossible.

If you don't wake your horse up, it will just remain where it was when you put it to bed. In fact, even if it's woken up, as long as you don't do anything with it, like put it in the meadow, give a salt stone ot train it, it will come to no harm.

Imagine that your horse is frozen in time. If you had 1,000 horses, you couldn't posssibly look after each and every one of them on a daily basis! So Howrse understands that the horses are just 'on hold' until you decide to do something with them. Which is good news for you!

One final thing - if you don't look after any of our horses, and you have a job - you won't get paid!

Howrse Auctions/Private Sales

If you sell a horse, either in the private sales or in the auctions, you cannot buy it back for 10 days.

You can buy a horse and re-sell it to another player immediately, if you wish to, but you can't buy a horse back yourself until those 10 days have passed. And that's not 10 Howrse days either!

Some people believe that if you sell your horse to a third party, you can then buy it back from them within in 10 days. This not the case.

So always be careful when selling your horses. 10 days is a long time to be without that beloved Arabian or treasured Donkey...
